Humble Beginnings
In 1967 Fr. Benedict Groeschel of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal founded the house in Greenpoint Brooklyn. The goal was to provide a safe haven and highly structured home environment designed to meet the needs of young men who, having run out of alternatives, are looking for a new start in life.
We try to break the cycle of poverty that traps our youth into thinking they have no hope for the future.
The St. Francis House is a Christ-centered structured home, that provides for these young men, where they receive guidance in order to change their lives.
The house is now directed by Joseph Campo SFO.
